2012 Annual Convention Information
When: March 2nd and 3rd (Friday and Saturday, times to be announced)

Keynote speakers:
- Wade Fisher - The Fisher family has been in the Honey Bee Industry for over 3 generations. We have over 60 years of experience with beekeeping and have been providing commercial pollination to growers of fruits, nuts and vegetables for over 50 years. Using modern beekeeping practices we have been able to expand our operation to include over 10,000 colonies of honey bees providing pollination service to 14 states. - Ralph Jones -has taught Farm Business Management for Idaho State University for the last 17 years. He has received many awards and recognition for his teaching. He has a comprehensive background in agriculture. Through junior high, high school, and college he worked on a dairy farm in northern Utah. After his return from Vietnam, he spent the next 26 years as the owner/operator of his own row crop farming operation west of Twin Falls, Idaho. Because of Mr. Jones’ recognized teaching abilities, he regularly is an invited speaker at agriculture seminars in California, Canada, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, North Dakota, and Utah. - Lee Brown - We plant our own trees, care for our orchards, harvest ourselves and then hull, shell and process the nuts in our own facility. At every stage of the process our goal is to instill quality. By controlling quality from the field to the box, we can offer our customers the best nut that our land, technology and hard work can produce. South Valley Farms.

We have a block of rooms reserved for the UBA Convention at a special rate of $84.00 for March 1-4, 2012. The room block will be held through February 13, 2012. After this date the rooms are released and the rate goes up. Please call the hotel directly and ask for the Utah Beekeeper Convention Room Block.If you are planning on staying overnight, PLEASE consider staying at the Best Western Cottontree Inn. Filling the room block helps to pay for our meeting rooms, thus keeping the convention costs down. Amenities include complimentary hot breakfast, wireless internet, indoor pool and hot tub & exercise facility.
This is the annual beekeeping convention for beekeepers of all skill levels. A dinner banquet will be held the evening of the 2nd were we will be awarding the coveted hive tool award to a special recipient. We hope you can all join us for these two days at this fun educating event; more information to follow (see below) - please check back soon!
Membership Dues and Registration Fees:
- Hobbyist (0-49 colonies) - $20.00 per year
- Sideliner (50-299 colonies) - $30.00 per year
- Commercial (300 or more colonies) - $40.00 per year

The Utah Beekeepers Association will have its annual banquet dinner at the Best Western Cottontree Inn (same place as the convention) on Friday March 2, 2012 at 6:30pm.
Cost: $20.00 per plate if you register before February 27th, $25.00 per plate after Februray 27th.
RSVP: on the registration form and include payment.
Dress: Business Casual
Menu: Buffet dinner to include Peppercorn Brisket of Beef, Lemon Herb Chicken Breast, garlic mashed potatoes, salad, dressings, sour dough rolls and butter, drinks and dessert.
Special Dietary Needs:Vegetarian Entrée or Sugar Free Desserts can be accommodated upon request at the time of RSVP.

The honey tasting break will be held on Saturday March 3, 2012, from 10:00 -10:30am. Please bring a sample of your honey to share (or more than one kind if you would like). Please remember to label your sample so it can be returned. Thanks and we look forward to sampling honey from around the state!
